About Dewalt

Mr Raymond E DeWalt left school and found himself in a number of mill and construction jobs. It was while carrying out these roles he put his innovative mind to work and devised various tools and machines to increase work output due to the necessity to meet the ever growing workload with no money for additional labour. Mr DeWalts industry at the time involved a great deal of woodworking and it was in 1924 when the Dewalt Products Company was formed. The company was formed in Leola Pennsylvania and its product was a universal woodworking machine named the DeWalt "Wonder Worker". The company continued to grow and diversify and it wasn't until 1994 that Dewalt Inc as it was then known launched 30 cordless power tools and 14.4V cordless drills, the most powerful cordless drills available at the time. The launch included a whole range of cordless power tools such as screwdrivers, impact drivers and impact wrenches not just cordless drills.
